Welcome to our latest Newsletter.
We have just started a very exciting year in cinema with the promise of many excellent releases. The Oscars are fast approaching and we expect a good haul of awards for the British Film industry, which we are proud to be a part of.
I would like to share with you some news of my own: in March, it will be 30 years since I joined my father, Peter, at Sound Associates as a trainee engineer! I have learned so much since then, but of course, I will always be ‘the new boy’ to Derek Soden and John Stephens who are the true veterans here!
I hope you will enjoy reading about our recent installations and our work with new technologies,”

Q-Sys Training
A number of Sound Associates engineers came to our Head Office for an intensive day of training on an innovative new system from QSC for audio processing, control and management.
Graham always has an eye out for new innovations in cinema and is keen that the engineers know how to make the best use of the new technology.

Recent SA Installations:
Kino Rye
Congratulations to Matt Breckon on the opening of his second Kino boutique cinema last month. Sound Associates are proud to have assisted with the specification and installation of the NEC projectors and Datasat AP20 sound processors, thereby creating a state-of-the-art two screen cinema with an additional function/screening room.
It is in a beautiful old library building, which has been lovingly restored, and they have successfully created a comfortable, cosy atmosphere in both the bar area and auditoriums. It is a welcome new addition to the town of Rye which hasn’t had a cinema for 42 years!

Current Projects:
Westminster University, Regent Street, London.
We are proud to be involved in this prestigious project bringing back to life the original home of UK cinema. This beautiful space had been previously used as a lecture theatre; it is rare to have a heritage site ‘cocooned’ in Central London. – More on this in our next newsletter.
Everyman Mailbox, Birmingham
We are in the middle of installing the Everyman Mailbox, an exciting new 3 screen cinema. Look out for more information on our website. – More on this in our next newsletter.

“I really had a lot of fun during the Q-Sys training. It’s always exciting to try a new
piece of equipment. And I had good evening out afterwards catching up with the
other engineers over dinner"
Antonio, Engineer, Sound Associates
